The Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses (SALPN) is mandated through the "Licensed Practical Nurses Act 2000", the Bylaws and the Standards of Practice to regulate the profession of Practical Nursing in a manner that protects the public. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) have been practicing in the province of Saskatchewan for over 60 years. The Practical Nurse Program and clinical practice has continually evolved and changed, enhancing the opportunities for LPN practice. These comprehensive changes to basic education, continuing education and practice environments have impacted the demand for LPNs and opened new and unique opportunities throughout the province.
