To work as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the province of Saskatchewan, you must hold a valid practicing license issued by the Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses (SALPN).

Conditions for Licensure

To maintain eligibility to practice as a LPN in Saskatchewan, a person must:

  • Be a practicing or graduate practical nurse member in good standing with the SALPN;
  • Be employed in a position requiring licensure as a LPN
  • Submit the licensing renewal form to the Registrar on or before December 1 along with the annual prescribed fee;
  • Submit a completed continuing education inventory on the renewal form.
  • Comply in all particulars with any order of the Discipline Committee or of the Court respecting the LPN or his/her practice;
  • Work at least 1250 registered working hours in LPN activities approved by the Council during the previous five years.
